Streetsampling is a project in which I take a one minute recording each time when coming across a street musician in public space. In return, I leave few coins as a donation.

In March 2014 Streetsampling was presented at the international festival of sound art and interactive art In-Sonora in Madrid. The project was offered to the public in a form of a four channel, open-ended composition based on about 8000 samples extracted from 350 samples of street musicians collected across the world in the preceding 3.5 years. The exhibition was concluded with a performance instigating a space for an aural dialog between the digital algorithm traversing the database of the recordings, the editing force of the author mixing in street music collected in Madrid, and an improvisatory response by one of the street musicians invited to join the performance.

Collaboration with Max Björverud (programming) and Luca Brembilla (guitar).
